Ply & Yarn Weight
 • 4 ply is fingering weight (Weight 2)
 • 5 ply is sport weight (Weight 3)
 • 8 ply is DK weight (Weight 4)

Recommended Hook and Needle Sizes: 

Hook and needle sizes are recommendations only. Individual tension and project type may require adjustments.

  • 4 Ply: Hook Sizes – B (2.25 mm) to E (3.5 mm) & Needle Sizes – 1 (2.25 mm) to 3 (3.25 mm)
  • 5 Ply: Hook Sizes – E (3.5 mm) to 7 (4.5 mm) & Needle Sizes – 3 (3.25 mm) to 5 (3.75 mm)
  • 8 Ply: Hook Sizes – G (4.0 mm) to H (5.0 mm) & Needle Sizes – 6 (4.0 mm) to 8 (5.0 mm)

  • Color Representation: We do our best to show colors as accurately as possible, but please keep in mind that shades may look slightly different in person due to individual screen settings, monitor calibration, or lighting conditions.
  • All cakes are hand-wound with care: Slight variation is part of the handmade process and adds to the unique character of each piece.
